This I believe about art education...

The artist-teacher is like a ringleader. She uses enthusiasm, knowledge and interest-capturing material to enthrall, teach and entertain her students. She challenges them to be the best they can be by providing different “side show” elements. Critical thinking, creativity and individuality are coveted much like the acrobats and their tricks. Knowledge is passed from her to students much like the passage of a lion through a fire-burning hoop.  A million different ideas and opinions are always surging out of her student’s heads in a way comparable to the surging of two-dozen clowns from one car; each idea is just as incredible as the next. The circus-classroom journey takes both the students and teacher through multiple acts; the good and the bad, and continues to improve with each performance.
